View Full Version : Trading Guns
Not sure if this is posted in the right area or even Legal???
I know that Gun registration is not needed out here in AZ.
I'm looking to possibly trade or sell mine. LEGALLY
I want a nice .45 Semi-auto.
I have an SKS with a mounted scope (Chinese Version - Sorry Hiker)
Also have a Smith & Wesson .357 Magnum
Plus a Mossberg 12 Guage
Just looking for a change and I want a Semi-Auto.
Thanks,

It's a 6" barrel. The gun is aluminium in color with a simulated wood grain handle.

I got my first auto a few years ago; a Ruger P90. Not a real fancy pistol, not too expensive, easy to strip and clean, simple safety and shoots better for me than my Dad's 1911 with all kinds of custom work. I think they are made in Prescott:D. I think I'll get mine out and shoot it now that I've talked myself into it.[8D]

You can trade legally. It's your moral and legal responsibility to at least make sure the buyer is of legal age. Obviously you can't perform a background check on your own.
The only gun I've ever sold to a person was an elderly gent, whom I saw in Walmart looking at Mini-14's. I told him I have one that I'd consider selling. I offered the same price as a new one, but with all the goodies thrown in (scope, mags, etc.). I was tentative about the sale until the codger whips out his CCW and then I felt better. He was packing a Taurus 9mm (24/7 model).
If you want to easily make the transfer. There's a shop in Apache Junction (AJ-Imports) located on Apache Trail and Meridian (behind the Taco Bell). The guys there are really cool and give better deals then the other gun stores. I've done a few straight-across trades for firearms of equivalent value.
His prices are FAR better then AZ Sportsman & Bear Mountain. I've spoken to the owner several times. Like me, he realizes that those stores are very pricey and have condescending sales associates. He strives to treat every customer with respect... something you don't find in many stores.
Thanks for the info DC. I'll have to check them out. The only one that I DO want to get rid of is the .357, but there's no way I could trade straight across for a .45.
Will probably take all 3 just to come close.

The three for one sounds do-able. But you might want to call around to the gun shops and pawn shops to see who has what on used or pawned 45's. Then sell yours on consignment at Pistol Parlour in Mesa (or some other busy gun store).
Thanks Bill,
I'm not in a hurry, just want something new....that is quick to load IF unloaded. Just looking to consolidate...;)

Hey check out the new 1911 from Taurus ;) It is getting very good reviews on quality of fit and finish...and it comes standard with A LOT of features that cost extra from other brands.
