Anyone interested in a nice ride should look at Payson. Last weekend it was around 72 Degrees. Take Houston Mesa Road to FR #198 and then begin to ride. There are so many trails once you take FR #198 to the Control Road and then you can explore. If anyone has any other places to go with nice forest trees, please let me know. Thanks.
Get me to Houston Mesa Road....is that off of 87 or 260?
Right turn off 87 just north of Payson. Big sign, can't miss it.

I LIVE IN PAYSON ON THE HOUSTON MESA RD. THERE ARE SHERRIFF'S ON THAT ROAD ALOT, SO IF YOU GET CAUGHT ON THE HOUSTON MESA RD WITHOUT STREET TAGS, THEY WILL STOP YOU. IF YOU ARE TALKING TAGS FOR RIDING OFF ROAD, NO ONE WILL STOP YOU IF YOU DON'T HAVE THEM. BUT YOU CAN RIDE A WHOLE LOT OF TRAILS WITHOUT GETTING ON HOUSTON MESA RD. IF YOU HAVE ANY MORE QUESTION, LEAVE ME A PM. I CAN TELL YA ALL KINDS OF STUFF AROUND HERE, WE RIDE EVERY WEEKEND AND I HAVE LIVED HERE FOR 19 YEARS. RENEZ[8D][8D][8D][8D]

Looking at a map, Houston Mesa Road goes past a small group of roads(community? campground?) (
http://www.mapquest.com/maps/map.adp?latlongtype=decimal&latitude=34.276&longitude=-111.304 ), and then it goes on in... to FR198. If I take my kids camping with the motorcycles, what would you recommend for where to stop the truck and camp, so that we could come and go from camp on the moto's. Anywhere past that little community? ...or farther in? ...wishing to avoid prob's with pure off-road moto's.
