Hitting Glamis soon and am looking for advice on a paddle tire for my KLX400. Cheng Shen sells one for cheap but i'm told it's heavy, how much problem is this? I saw the Skat-trak paddles and they looked pretty good, especially the Predator model, but can't seem to find any prices...Any advice is appreciated,

Thanks

Skat tracks are the price of the tire you buy AND send to them + about $80 - $90 dollars for them to shave the knobs off and glue the paddles on + shipping BOTH ways. HOWEVER, the Skat trak rep I spoke with says there is a distributor in Nogales and all it would cost is the shippiing + $80 - $90 for the tire. Sounds like the distributor would charge over a hundred dollars to get you a skat trak.

My buds bike destroyed a 10 blade viper in a couple rides but he's been on the Cheng Shin 10 blade for two seasons.

Interesting...so why all the hype about the Skat traks? sounds like they suck and are extremely expensive...in comparison. 46 bucks seems pretty cheap to me...

I run the Cheng Shin Sand Pro model on my CR250. Have used it for two seasons with zero problems - Still looks like new. It is lighter than the knobby in run for dirt. My view is paying the extra money for the big name paddles is "fool & his money shall soon part" material[}:)][B)]

Rock on! I took the solid advice and I have one on order. Thanks for the info, my Cheng Shin and KLX400 will hit the sand the 18th of Oct and continue on the 19th. I'm heading up with a few friends of mine who are on quads if anyone cares to join...we are bound for GLAMIS!

The absolute best paddle I have found is "King Turbo Paddle"
I have knocked teenagers off their bikes with the roost this thing throws :D
It is vastly superior to anything else I have tried.

Little blue n big silver, Diesels of course ... http://ridingarizona.com/forum/uploaded/Fistfull/2003823161338_dieselengine3.gif http://ridingarizona.com/forum/uploaded/fistfull/2003616172440_icon_burnout.gif

I have one for my CR500 and it still looks as good as new after a long weekend ride on it.The name of the company in Nogales is Lee's Distributing.I bought it for 86 dollars.Tire was shiped to my door the next day.I was happy with the service and the tire.:D

I might be going to the dunes for the first time in 18 years. I plan to take my old husky out there. Does anyone make a 17" paddle or can I get by with my knobbies?

Go really fast down that hill. If anything gets in your way, turn.
