Have any of the RUV riders found a way to control the dust entering the cabin? There is a rear window/cover for sale at one of the after market sites. Has any one tried it? One more break-in ride and than I'll be ready for the trails.

I am working on some side fender extensions (frt & rear) on my Ranger, I do have the delux cab. I have made the mud flaps pivot so when way off the road I can fasten them up so they don't get torn off, but it does help when there down (also better for those behind me). I am also using rubber weather strip to ward off drafts from cracks that also are sand feeds. Other than that grit your teeth and rub your eyes with the rest of us & ENJOY.

Thanks Tom. I would be interested in seeing some pic of your mud flap idea. Until we get some rain, every little bit helps. Jack

I think the power windows option might be nice :D:D:D

We have found that having a full winshield and full rear window make the dust issue terrible. Think back when you run down a dirt road with your window rolled down dust city. The best we've noticed is a half window with a angled edge to devert wind up and no rear cab inclosure.
I'll post pics of my wind shield I'm making when I'm done.
Ask AZOTTO he'll tell you the same thing.

I have a windshield and roll up rear cab wall for my Ranger and I’m not using either one now. I found they created dead air zones where dust would just hang while riding. The best results have been with the cab open.

I also had mudflaps at one time and had the opposite experience that Tom did. They caused the dust to roll out the side and seemed to push it forward instead of exiting out the back. The one benefit from the flaps was riders behind me didn’t have to worry about rocks flying up.

Adding a 2” lift and 1” larger diameter tires did seem reduce the total amount of dust kicked up.

This ultra fine powder is the worst I’ve ever seen. Unless you install a fully sealed and enclosed cab you will not eliminate it but in the meantime, keep air moving through the cab, wear goggles and a dust mask and pray for rain!!

One Big Dust problem is created by a Vaccuum created from a front windshield. This windshield http://hunterworks.com/inc/sdetail/6835 solves that problem with vents that disrupt the airflow. Also it is almost impossible to scratch ( they claim you can clean it with steel wool) unlike the first windshield I bought from Moose Outfitters. a soft T-shirt and Windex ruined that one.

Run NO wind deflector or windshield, I have plenty of friends that would gladly sell you theirs.

Add a thick peice of foam between bed and rear of front seats. No problems.
