Just wanted to know, we have but 1 quad that me and my wife plan on taking turns on, we have a 6 year old who wants a little 80 cc, and I want to get him one for X-mas (fingers crossed) but my question is this you plan and set up rides, but do you bring your family and kind of set up a spot for them to relax (like a camp spot) and you go out for a while, then it's her turn, and so on? I wouldn't always want to bring the family but you know once in a while, thats one of the reasons for purchasing a quad for me and my wife to get out and enjoy riding, if finances were better we would have gotten 1 for all of us, but were happy, and grateful that we do have one. Is 207 a good place to bring the family set-up a spot to sit in chairs and relax, while Iam out riding? New to this and just want to know about if its ok, safety issue, and if there are others do the same thing. Have a good one. Also its getting to be nicer down here in the desert, is there good camping where you can ride around say east valley? Thanks Jeff

Hey me and my wife do the same alot of times. We will go out with friends and family alot of times just to hang out spend time together and ride. We set up our spot and go from there. One of us will ride then the other. Like you said want two bikes but not that easy. We have a little boy who turns 2 real soon and he loves to be out in the desert playing around and loves to see quads and bikes cruising by. 90 percent we go out with atleast one of my friends, who comes out on his bike as well. His family also will come out sometimes just to hang out especially when the weather is nice.

We almost always take two cars when my wife does come out. She does not stay out as long as I do USUALLY and if it is real hot we dont like to have the boy out too long.

207 is as good as a place as any with the state trust land permit. All state trust land even allows for you to camp on the land. I usually go out to the Ironwood area, but I am sure that will be changing when the Ironwood area is posted as closed.

Hopefully will get to see you out riding soon

We do the same, often I do not ride as long as the guys, so I bring magazines to read and often I am by myself - good idea to have others around. I dont think there is much shade at the 207 - so - bring some!!

My wife and I go out and we take our 3 year old son with us. We either do a idle cruise with him or we do one at a time, or if friends go with us, we switch off and on. I am hoping to get him a 40cc or a 50cc quad soon. I have a little 50cc dirt bike but it is to tall for him. I have it for sale in the want ads section.
As for places to ride, we mostly head up to bartlett lake and the power lines area. We are going to try to get out of town more, up at camp verde they have a nice kids track and a good staging area. I cost 3 bucks but it is worth it. They have restrooms and a picnic area.

Lakota,

Excellent question. For me, I never leave home without my family. We go everywhere together. Each one of us has a toy. One of the most exciting things about riding is getting together with family and friends. You will find many on the RA site who practice what you have described. There are many gatherings where riders ride in shifts. Some based on skill level, the girls ride (you will see this mentioned in a few places), etc. Welcome to Riding Arizona!
