Is there a website where I can get some info on the Whiplash Desert Racing? My son and I are interested in learning more and possibly trying out a couple of races next year. We are both amatures to racing although decent riders. What we would REALLY like to try is some sort of "team" race...where we could each ride part of the track. Are there any events where you ride multiple times around the course so that you can fill up with gas and change riders?? We likely wouldn't have a "Team" or chase vehicles that appear to be required to do the LONG races...but we'd like to start out on something a little milder. We're going to try to get out to one of the remaining races just to check things out. Any info would be much appreciated.

i think team races with whiplash would be fun, but I think BITD is the next closest organization that has team racing that I know of.... I could be wrong though...

I have no limitations, only my quad has limitations......

For next season Whiplash is considering adding a Team entry to it's desert races. I'm not aware that a decision has been made on the details.

The Vulture Mountain race in Wickenburg would be a good one to check out. It's close (reasonably close from Mesa), and multiple laps on a medium length course so you can hang out in one spot and get a feel for what happens during a race.

For that matter just pay your entry fee and race it. No better way to find out than do it. Just bring some extra gas and go for it.

Thanks for the info guys. Unfortunately we won't be able to go to the Wickenburg race to check it out (Deer Hunting)... but we'll get out to one of the races sometime soon to check it out. It would be fun to race either with...or against...my son!

I am also a new timer to the desert racing scene, and would like to check it out and give it a shot. Does Whiplash have a Spring series also, or is there anything in Arizona for spring time racing? Unfortunately, with my current work schedule, I probably won't be able to make any of the last two Whiplash events.

Thanks,
Chris

Their series goes all year round, Jan to Dec. Approx. one race a month give or take a month off or two in the summer.
