I might go up in Nov to the dunes. I hear even with a rear sand tire it's still not worth taking my bike. Everyone tells me my bike is way under powered. I'm about 200 pounds. Any thoughts? has anyone taken a 125 to the dunes?

BTW... I hate riding in the sand and not very good at it.

I've seen kids on some 125's out there but they weren't shootin' any hills and they sure weren't having the same level of fun the bigger bikes provide. Sorry, but a 125 with a 200lb rider would suck a$$ out there.

Bring the KFX, some buds of mine from Texas are gonna be out there with us in November and they have a couple KFX's

Last year Crazyguy[8D] brought his ktm 125 out to the dunes and had a wonderful time he was able to climb the large hills as well as navigate throught the bowls. I think if you pm him he'll be more than glad to give you more details:D.

The one thing I can tell you for sure is. When riding out there he was in the pipe the whole time[8D]. Not because he wanted to, but because he had to. The sand is very soft and maintaining momentum is key, especially on two wheels[:0].

See that doesn't seem fun to me. Think I will wait until I get a quad. I need two toys now :)

I will be posting the mods that we just did to my brothers KFX. We are going to pick it up tonight.

I ride a KX 250 in the sand...it runs great, but I'm always grabbing for another gear...(insert wish I had a CRF 450 here) I love the 250, but can't imagine a 125 in the sand...I'm in the 200lb range, and I know I'd burn it up in a heartbeat.
