$2000 PRO PURSE IN PRESCOTT!!!!!

Hey all you quad people!!!! Check it out! RPM is presenting an Xtreme TT race/ freestyle show up at Prescott on Oct 24/25th - this is the first QUAD ONLY event that I have heard of in AZ!!!! TT races, drag races, freestyle show - big names are coming and it sounds like a blast!!!! Racing fees are reasonable ($10 pit/gate fee and $10 to race!) - first 25 get race fees free!!! If you haven't seen quad freestyle in person, it's AMAZING!!!!!

Corry, I went as well. As a matter of fact I sat right next to you right before your race on your yamaha.

Too bad there wasn't any ads in the town about it. There were hardly anybody there. But I had a great time anyway. Can't wait for the dune season. Maybe we'll see you on the dunes with your 440 ex.

RPM was crying that they lost there but(money)on this race. I dont know why they thought they could put on a huge race without telling anyone. Only a few people knew about it. Im grateful they tried something like this but you cant expect to make money unless you tell the public about it.

Can someone explain to me how the last race (the pros) works. They said the race would go for 20 minutes plus 1 lap. Anyway, I watched 2 guys lap everyone and when the last lap flag went up, they put the flag up with other people, not those 2 guys. These 2 did not win the race. I saw the guy who should have won complain to the officials but to no avail. Does it not matter who is in first place when the 20 minutes are up but who ever is closest to the finish line at that 20 minute mark then 1 lap occurs. I have never seen a race like this. Also, I must say I was very disappointed with how everything ran or I should say how it didn't run. They put out a schedule of events with times, but never stuck to the times. I got there on Saturday, presumably to watch the pee wees race and I got there 5 minutes prior to the scheduled race time and the race was over.

Skyler stewart, the guy who won was in first the whole time....the top three was what it should have been....well atleast from where i was standing.....

and once the leaders get the white flag everyone gets it.....this may or may no thave been what confused you but i just figured id say it[:p]

talk about a lousy turnout. if my old lady didn't want to try out a tt event to get her quad set up perfect for next years gncc moto x races we would have NEVER went. big thumbs down for the lack of promotion. big props to skyler for rapping the pros as well as spooner for ending up with second. on a lighter note it was nice to pull 4th in wickenberg on the lil 450 since it's not even set-up for desert racing.

I've seen finishes like that before. Yes they throw the flag at the determined time, but that doesn't mean that the guy who was coming in at the time the 20 minutes up won. He may have been way back but just happened to be coming through when time ran out. the scorers know who is in the lead and will score the race accordingly. The leaders may still be out half way around the track, but still winning. It is confusing, but when you look at the scorers papers and times, it makes since.

The prescott race was kinda unorganized. I would agree. We had to ask every hour what was going on because of the lack of organization.

Wow.......I haven't been able to check the board until now.....I didn't realize everyone hated that race so much. Everyone I talked to had a really good time.....I have to thank RPM for sticking their neck out and giving the quad racers what they have been asking for for so long - a quad only event. The track was really fun - very fast and fun to jump! The advertising could have been more expansive, I will have to agree.....but I think the target market as far as fans went was Prescott mostly - not Phoenix. With some changes I think other quad only events would have some real potential! I thought the racers and everyone involved were extremely patient and I commented on that many times over the weekend - so to all of you who came out to race, thank you for your sportsmanship and goodheartedness!!

BunknTeri!!!! Very cool!!! That was you guys?? You were sitting next to my parents and my little kiddos up in the stands!!! Climbing all those stairs in Alpinestars can wear a person out, let me tell you!

The quad turnout was around 50 quads including the utility quads, peewees, and the big quad classes. Which, for a quad race here in AZ, is actually a really good number. The fan turnout was much less than I and everyone else was hoping for, however.... :(

But - at least someone stepped up and gave it a shot!

BTW - Jeremy Young from RPM is now a daddy! :)

It was pretty fun..and the Utility quads were very entertaining...Tanner Beckman (winner of the youth quads) was close to clearing the double..i think wiht a slight gear change and if he didnt let off he'd make it....ill agree it was a lil unorganized but that didnt make it not fun..i had a blast and my hanlde bars show it[:p]

Actually, on Saturday evening, it was me (ahsumtoy) sitting next to you and the kids (top row on the right of the stands), unless Bunk & Terry were on your left. My wife was talking to you right before you went down to race. I had a great time. It got a little cold - wish the consessions had coffee or hot chocolate. Even though there was little turn out - I loved the racing. I think more people would have turned out if there had been more advertising. Last year they advertised monster trucks and there ended up too many people. There were not enought seats for everyone. I hope they do it again but advertise more.
