View Full Version : Snowflake rollcall and ideas
How many are planning on racing in Snowflake - provided it is still going to happen?
I propose that we have a "consolidated RA pit". I know we probably have one or two that will be racing in the same class so there may have to be some pit strategy laid out but I think we can definitely run one pit and still win.
Any thought?

Big-Kaw-hoto,
I have the usual pit people covered and like I said earlier, I am sure they can pit you too.
Typical pit strategy and participants:
My Bro Micah: "Pit boss, gas guy, tire guy if needed.
He also lists all class particpants according to starting order prior to race to keep a good running figure of class position and to cross-check whiplash scorers (last year they had me 7th, he had me 4th....he was correct and I got a $3.00 piece of plastic for my efforts..what I live for)
Tamara: Goggle girl, chain-luber and filter skin puller.
All you have to do is take off and put on your gas cap. You can arrange a camelbak top off if you need it, but this will have to be discussed prior to the race (we have given up on those, I just try to hydrate well a week before and race on one camelbak due to the extra pit time)
This usually results in about an 8 second pit, sometimes quicker (depending on how good my numb fingers fumble for the gas gap!)
Stategy: I usually pit at the end of the second lap, but may pit on the first if my Bro feels that the pit traffic is light and I am not in a battle for position.
We usually pit at the exit of the first turn (i like to exit and enter the course in a slow section, with the theory that I don't have to brake and accelerate back up to 80 in the middle of a straight) with track both sides (the dust sucks!) and my Bro can see the riders coming and have people and gas ready (and it gives my Bro a good seat for the start and let's him start yelling at me right of the bat!)
That is about it, let me know what you think, what you need or anything else you can think of.
Are you still going to be stuck in the 900 class. Maybe you can bust out some old results and I can talk to Jackie on your behalf? Let me know.
PS: If you are having a fork problem on the fiver' let me know, I have a guy for that.....even an ex-Kawy factory mechanic (wrenched for Kyle Lewis in his 125 west championship season).
See ya'

Knock on wood, but running a Moose heavy inside a Moose heavy with Slime, I haven't had a flat. (Now I'm scr*wed )
Anyways, like I said earlier today, if i can't double up in a pit I'm stumped, my family doesn't do the race thing So I'm very appreciative of the offer and If I can pit with your bro's tell 'em to place the cerveza order cuz I got it covered
I'm not gonna pull old results and get into a p*ssing contest, I haven't run a race in 18 - 20 months and I know I should run the "trail" ride first. If I'm half what i was i won't be there long . Later brutha man and I'll see you at Snowflake.

I'll be you have several "volunteers". Sounds like a dream job: the smell and sound of racing.

I'll be there for sure. I have a "team" I pit with every year (Pop's Racing), and pit members just like jkcmotox does. Usually I'm with with Dayton Raper, Todd Johnson, Eric Brown, J.D. Dumphry and a few others. We don't have a spot located yet, because pit orientation changes every year.
Any body is more than welcome to come over and park next to us and bring they're gas and goggles over. We'll try to help as much as possible. It just depends on how many pit people I have show up.
Just look for the grumpy bunch of riders running around barking out orders.

Ya know I'm thinking (very dangerous thing) I pitted across the track from ya'll at the hyeroglyphic (sp) my pit crew consisted of 1 person and when I pitted, someone from across the way came over and helped. Kind of a grumpy older guy barking out orders It was cool and it was appreciated.
