We will be doing the Desoto Mine trail this Saturday. We will be coming back on the same trail. This trail is rated a 4 out of five in dificulty and a 4.5 for the return trip. We will meet at the Bumble Bee General Store at 9am. Just head North on I-17 and exit at Bumble Bee. Then just follow the road until you come to Bumble Bee. We will stage either at the store or just down the road depending on how many show up.

Hairback,
I may be interested in the ride this weekend. What is the trail like. Are there any bypasses on the real tricky stuff. I am failry new, but feal I am ready for some more challenging stuff. Just want to know what I am getting into before I go.

Ok here is the scoop on the trail. The start of the trail has a bad off camber to negotiate. This off camber spot is scary looking but as long as you follow the correct line you just go up and over. This same spot on the way back is a pucker factor of 10. Still as long as you follow the right line it is easy enough. The rest of the trail is just steep climbs and slick down hills. As long as you pay attention and take it slow you would be fine. Again these hills get worse on the way back but by then you will be all broke in. Now at the end of the trail is a creek bed that can be slightly tricky because your tires get wet and you slip around a lot.

If you take it slow and ask for help if you feel uncomfortable you would be able to do it. This trail is one of the better ones around for fun factor. I do suggest a 4X4 quad because of traction is hard to come by in some spots unless you really know how to ride the 2X4 in tricky terrain.

Trying to figure out what trail this is. I went to a Mine last weekend in that area. Just not sure it's the same or not. Another trail I usally go to is one that dead ends and during the rainy season you can see a waterfall in the distance. Do you stage right off the dirt road that leads to the resturant?

Yes that is where we will stage. There is no telling if the trail you talking about is the same trail. There are so many mines in that area. The trail we will be taking starts just past Cleator and travels N/W up to the Senator HWY. just before the turn to Mayer. It also passes right past the Goat Ranch.

Grover, I would love to do it... but would be impossible this weekend. Working 2 full time jobs right now...7 days a week and about 18 hours a day! Besides if Hairback rode with us he would never be the same.
Hey why is old Hairback on this site anyway? Doesn't he have his own site to worry about? I thought that site was full of people just standing in line waiting to go on one of his rides.

Nope, it has been a little slow on my site lately. A lot of the guys are working a lot of hours and don't have time right now. So I thought I would see if I could gather some interest in a real man's ride here. I met a few new folks on the Camp Wood camp out that thought would like to try some more challenging terrain.

Come on along Grover. Should be nothing but good times a waiting.

Thats pretty interesting. Do you have any real men going? Just what is a real man anyway? Is it someone that rides difficult trails? What if the same guy (the one that rides difficult trails)was a dead beat dad, or a burglar, is he still a real man? What if there is a guy that doesn't particularly care for difficult trails but works hard, is honest, caring, and provides for his family, is he not a real man......just curious as to your definition of a real man.

What the????? I think all the long hours you are working has turned your brains to sauce. I was using the term as a slang to describe a difficult trail. I was also using the term to get your panties in a bunch knowing that you would take offense. It would appear to have worked pretty sweet. Provoking others into doing what they would not normally do is by most people's definition "what men do". The fact that you seem to be oblivious to that fact and went off on a female tangent with tears and all tells me you should stop cross dressing, working so many long hours and get out in the world a little bit. Maybe try making a friend or two.

I have read a post or two where you were bummed you missed a ride I was going on. I know you meant that sarcastically but I enjoyed calling your bluff. Whether your a good guy or not Sean is not real relevant to me. What is relevant to me is that you have gone out of your way to talk smack about me behind my back and ,here where your safe, with showing zero intention of ever facing me to tell me in person what you think of me. hahaha, that sill-assed my utility quad is better than your sport quad arguement is still going on?

ANYONE can ride a quad, to me a sport quad rider that rides the same trails as one of those suburban sized couches with wheels is the real man. I mean honestly, how much skill does it take to ride a utility quad through those trails? NOW compare that to how much skill it takes to ride the same trail on a sport bike. yeah that's what I thought. Real men DON'T ride utility quads ;)

Ed just so you know the Lord has gifted me in most areas of sport riding. I can ride a 2 wheeler pretty good too. I would never consider racing one but I would ride the same trals I ride now. I bet I can ride a sport quad too if they ever make one big enough. I just perfer the plush ride of a big utillity quad and I have definatly been on trails where a Sport Quad would be like a red headed step child on a play ground. No one would want to play with that thing if they had a choice. I would defiantly agree that there are some gifted sport quad riders in our midst. I have seen cool things done by Rapp Dude and 250rDude that I would have never tried on the same machine.

Sean you say I need to up the dosage of my Zoloft. This coming from a guy who tries to hide behind his wifes user name and has who knows how many other fake user names here and on my site. You lurk in the shadows like a rat looking for cheese. Well Sean here is your cheese, the sword you swing has two edges. You can't expect to use information you get from the sites gossip against me do you? If she is talking @!$# about me she is surly talking $%#W about you as well. Everyone knows the kind of filth she spreads about a lot of people on this site. She has talked smack about two of my own friends to me. She has also said crap about the owners of this site and yes you too. Sean you are out of your league here man. You have bit off more than you can chew. From your multiple screen names to your multiple email address you use to ask for quotes on advertising not only here but on my site as well.

Tommy Boy, WTF are you babbling about? Who the hell is SHE? And again the world doesn't revolve around YOU. I have one user name here, my wife has one username here, I have NO username on your site, nor do I want to. As far as buying advertising on your site....jeez man you are really delusional now. Why would I buy advertising from a site with no members? Oh excuse me 30 members.
You really need some help dude. You may need to go to a proctologist to get them panties out of a bunch.

Sean your not only a coward but now you have moved down the chain to liar. I never told you squat. The only conversations I have ever had with you have been on the forum and one email where you begged me to take down the email you sent to Redneck where you behind my back like a coward were talking all kinds of smack. So if I told you about the medication I take pull up the post. We all know where you got that information. It is no secret and it has been going on for way to long. You do have a membership on my site where you have posted 6 times under your wifes screen name. Did you forget LeighAnn? Anyone who wants to verify the lies this guy just spouted off do a search on my site for posts by LeighAnn where he is posting under his wifes name and talking about selling Bear Claw tires to my members. I am now done with this. You have piled the ammo for me to shoot but I will not participate any longer.

Shannon, thank you. I do appreciate the welcome.

Tom, You indeed told me about the Zoloft! And in this very forum. If this site would let me search back that far I could show you. GNJ Davis, Hairback was stupid enough to put it in a public forum himself sometime ago, so it was he that put his medical condition out there for all to see.
Also, if one was to read back through all the posts on this topic one would see that Hairsack was the first to instigate here, he also was the first one to start the name calling. So yes I hope Shannon does take note of the instigator. As far as his delusions about me wanting to buy advertising on his site is absolutely ridiculous. I also am not a member on his site. If you remember correctly when you changed servers or hosts or whatever, everyone had to redo their username and password and I declined. I was asked several times to check it out again and join and I also declined. Someone asked me in a PM what I thought of the site and I answered. It is not my fault that you sent a spy to PM me and ask about your site. I did not announce in a public place that I thought your site sucked and that you are a pompous ass but I will if you want me to. A PM is not in a public forum and does not belong in a public forum. Also, I have 1 username on this site and Leigh Ann has 1 username on this site...prove to me otherwise. Shannon I am sure could research by IP address and confirm this if he wanted. Also I am sure one of the moderators could research for me where you said that you take Zoloft. I can give you the topic that it is from.

2. Haven't you "real men" got anything better to do than talk smack?
3. Zoloft and it's use was discussed, at length, in the 489 tire thread. Yes, Tom you put in the public forum, you took it.
4. Sean - behave and stop throwing logic at the "real men".
5. Have you "real men" beaten your chests enough? Can we expect another surge of keyboard testosterone?

I would like to point out that all of the fighting has become quite annoying to all of us, however in Sean's defense (because he is my honey, ya know), he was not the instigator of the main ugliness of this topic. If you take the time to look at page 2, in Hairback's post he admits that he only said what he said to get Sean's panties in a bunch and how sweet it was that it worked. Who really is the instigator and more importantly, does it really matter? These two men do not, have not and will most likely never like eachother, for reasons that only they really know. It is a fact that some people just don't get along....period. For those of you that have chosen to judge either one of these men based on this or other topics that has involved their obvious dislike for eachother....shame on you. Good people do and say dumb things when provoked, that does not, in my opinion, mean that those people are always mean, bad people. I know what the truth is in all of the fighting between the two of them and once again it really doesn't matter that much. People will believe who and what they want depending on their individual beliefs and values. Some are always quicker to judge than others. To GNJ Davis, I do believe that we met you at Campwood. I'm sorry that you have chosen to judge Sean based on this post. You really should know the history between these two men first, but it is your decision.

I've enjoyed the company of many people on this site and I am sometimes disappointed by behaviors that I witness, but I still enjoy those same peoples company. Life and people are like soap opera and I am forever amused with the drama that plays out here. We should all be famous from the things we say on this site alone. Someone's bound to discover our acting abilities.

The fact is that it should be known and accepted that Sean and Tom will not be enjoying eachother's company any time soon. Unless they decide to fight it out on the dirt (with their quads and riding abilities, of course). I would however also like to say for the record that Sean did not bring Tom's Zoloft use into the public forum. In a previous post about 489 tires that blew up, Tom himself admitted to using Zoloft after Sean told him, I'll quote it: "oh my god, someone doesn't like me, I'm going to have to go get some Prozac, Zoloft, Lithium, Paxil." The post had more, but you get the idea and for those quick judgers, that was after a few terrible posts by Tom as well. Tom was just upset enough to tell Sean that he does take Zoloft (in a public forum) and that it wasn't nice to make fun of him for his mental condition. Sean was just saying anything to irritate Tom at that point and unfortunately Tom admitted something that maybe he didn't want to in hindsight. Again proving my point that people do and say dumb things when provoked. The topic was the infamous 489 tires topic and regrettably I have not been able to locate it to prove Sean's innocence on that particular point. Maybe this reminder will be enough to jog your memories, it was a very popular topic at the time. In closing, I hope this topic goes away and that these two men deal with eachother in a more suitable way. I'm sure Sean would be happy to talk to you in person Tom, he may be a lot of things, but a coward, he is not.

Leigh Ann,

I wasn't judging anyone. I don't know you, Sean or Tom beyond a few words. I just don't like the "dirty politics" style of trying to pi$$ someone off. There are some things that shouldn't be repeated (in my opinion) regardless of who said them first. But I guess if you dislike someone enough, you'll do what it takes to rile them.

I may have gone a little overboard with telling Sean where he can "stick his tires" and for that I apologize, but I stand by my opinion.

Hope it's something we can laugh about if/when we meet again.

I think it is funny to have to place at the bottom of your post "The Real One". That was the first thing that came to my mind when I started reading the post. Is this really Sean? Well who knows. Having different Ip addresses is real easy to accomplish. My wife also has a different IP then I do. I also have more than one myself for the different computers I use through out the day. Well Leigh Ann I do have a problem with Sean. I know what it is and I can speak it clearly. If Sean is willing to meet me like you say. Set that up and we will work out our problems once and for all. I don't want others to be a party to this anymore if we don't have to. It really goes no where and I think Sean and I are the only ones enjoying ourselves. That being the case I think it is a great idea to meet in person. I know Sean is busy working a lot but don't think it will take much longer then the time it takes him to post here. I am on call all next weekend so I can't ride anyway. I am willing to meet next weekend no problem. Just the fact that Sean is willing to meet me makes me happier already. I mean one of my biggest problems was that he said the things he did behind his keyboard.
