bushnell tanks/sunflower directions..HELP!!!!!!..

i've lived in az all my life and my g/f is unfortunate enough to not have experienced the great cotton woods out in the sunflower/bushnell tanks area.
from what i remember it used to be a small turn off on the right hand side then you go back and can camp in several areas with trails all around (including the trail to the actual stock tank itself).
can anyone tell me if it has change (direction wise)? i'm not sure if you can get to the area now seeing as when i used to go i was a wee lil guy. is the turn off still there??? or has it changed because of the highway expansion??
any help would be great as we're leaving tomorrow to drive down to payson and i'd rather go back to my fav. spot. thanks all.

Hey, will you be heading South on 87? If, so.. once you pass the Mount Ord exit and decend down the mountain into Sunflower you'll see an exit off 87 marked Bushnell Tanks, on your left(before the bridge). If you pass through Sunflower you've missed it.

We rode there a few months back. It's still one of the most beautiful wooded areas.

WOO HOO i'm so happy someone answered so quickly. yes..i'll be going south since i live in flagstaff. did you happen to ride back to the stock tank off of the main road? damn....that area brings back soooooo many memories of my youth (catching snakes, my first wheelie, bon fires). thank you so very much hardhead.

No problem. It's a favorite of mine. I hung out there as a teenager, my kids and I have ridden there for over 20 years.
