Just thought I would let you guys know that I posted two trails/areas in the Cavecreek area and one north of Tucson. I posting this under the "racers area" due to that fact that the two central posts are very bike oriented and pretty much for advanced riders anyway. Others could ride them......it would just take a racing type to actually think they are fun!

Are these areas specifically for single track or quad/bike use?

Syreda,

I don't know what kind of riding you like to do......you could ride your quad on the trail that is in the south part of cavecreek wash....it was made by bikes so it is pretty tight with huge whoops and braking and acceleration bumps at every turn...may not be to enjoyable on a quad, especially those of the utility type. The "Singletrack @ Horsehoe lake" trail is definetly a bike only trail (a bike barely fits!) unless of course, you can ride 6 miles on only the right or left tires of your quad {:)}

So tell me John,

When do we plan for the first GREAT singletrack ride of the post fire-restriction era? And where do we plan to go? I've been to most of the places around the Valley and would like to branch out to other places.

I guess most of my favorite stuff seems to be on either state or BLM land........and of course, they seem to be the most cautious in removing the "No Entry" signs from the areas in their care. As soon as they are lifted we will be there with b@lls on!!! I got so desperate yesterday, that I went and rode on a friends private property (only 5 acres!) near Cavecreek yesterday. I made a little turn track, all first and second gear stuff. Got outa hand and blew through a cholla! (kinda tight, 3rd gear noooo roomy!) Long story short, I ended up on the tailgate of my truck with a my leatherman and my pants down pulling 1" needles outa' my right knee (knee guards in gear bag 2 feet away). Ya know those d@mn things pack some preta' mean poison in em'! My knee is all p!ssed off today, swollen and not bendin' too good (the reason I am in front of my 'puter and not at my project right now) Oh well, my new shinny white Tech 8's came through it without a scratch.....and that is what matters (ever become a fashion slave to boots before? almost wore em' on a date last week).

As soon as my k-nee feels better, I going to drive my little nissan frontier to the highest hill around (or maybe the parking lot of the nearest Safeway) and perform the "Dirt Rike Rain Dance" or DBRB for short. I will wear above said shinny new white Tech 8's, Gap boxers and the brightest hawiian shirt I own. I will first start by offering the "God's of Traction" 4 oz's of Mazima super-M, three tear-offs and my beloved 8mm Motion Pro T-handle. If that doesn't open the sky up and start drenching us with land closure re-opening rain, then I am fully prepared to run as fast as I can, throw myself up into the air Travis Pastrana superman style and land directly and only on my elbows....providing a selfless offering to the God's of traction their favorite thing......elbow jerkey.

(Please, please let it rain.......not riding is starting to make me "feel funny".

You racin' Prescott my brotha'?

That's crazy talk. You do have it bad.

All you need to do is go out and rent "On Any Sunday", and watch it 100 times. That ought to please the throw up in your helmet gods.

Get the "Revisited" version too, switch videos after each viewing, this method provides a modicum of variety.

Not this time, I've been afflicted by the dreaded "business trip" brought on by a recent case of RAIDS* caused by a now cured case of layoff sickness

I've got a real bad case of that right now also, but mine came on from getting ripped off on the Baja-500 trip by TWO people.

My wife's going to freak out when I tell her I'm registered for the Prescott, and Snowflake races.

If you can't trust your friends, who can you trust!?!?

Nice guys finish last I guess.

I can't take it anymore. Not riding.

I have done all the standard things that usually make me feel better. I bought a couple of new pairs of goggles (the new Smith warp w/ built-in tear-offs), then new boots. Then a new helmet. By that point I was like "What the He!!, I am so deep into this that I have too get new gear too, so I bought some new Troy Lee stuff. That lasted a week or so, so I finally bought a Scott's (will be nice not to always hear everyone else say "you don't run a damper......your F'in nutz!). That was just three days ago and since I have re-safetywired everything on the Zuki....I think I even have safetywire holding on safetywire at this point! Then the whole cholla cactus vs. knee incident yesterday afternoon.

No, I don't think I can watch any videos right now, and the women I am dating have already seemed pretty offended when I asked them if I could weave my ProTapers into a ponytail on their heads.

You race WITHOUT one of those!?!? You are f'in nutz!!

One time and you're hooked, not to mention nowhere near as dead in the arms when you're done.

That lasted a week or so, so I finally bought a Scott's (will be nice not to always hear everyone else say "you don't run a damper......your F'in nutz!).
