Hello!
New to this forum today.
I used the search feature to read postings about Hot Well Dunes.
Also used various links and sites to read the government info.
Besides the actual camp areas at the dunes are there other good sites for families to camp at in the area to avoid the heavy duty party crowd?
Nothing wrong with a good party but I like my sleep!!!
thanks for positive feedback.

Rancho, I live 45 minutes away from the hot wells dunes we go riding out there all the time. I was just out there last weekend the weather is finally starting to cool off. jwalk1 was right the further from the hot tubs you get the quieter it usually is. There is quite a few designated campgrounds with tables some when you first enter the recreation area and some right by the tubs. You can camp anywhere you want but there is a $3 a day per vehicle fee. There is riding areas for pretty much all ages. The hot wells doesn't compare to glamis by any means but its still fun. If you have any more questions feel free to ask. Chris

Thanks to those who responded to my question about Hot Wells Dunes.
We went out there this past Sat. and Sun.
It is not as large as I had expected...but we all had a good time.
We used one of the designated camp sites with a concrete picnic table away from the hot tubs.
Over all it was cleaner and more fun than we had expected.
I don't want to sound like a preacher...but if we all do our part to clean up after ourselves we will continue to have places to ride.
We played around on the popular larger dune to the north in the area on Saturday. On Sunday we played on the dunes to the south of the hot tubs. The 4 of us had that area all to ourselves on Sunday.
Flags and nite lites are not required there, but next time we'll bring them anyway.
