going to the cinders friday night the 26th camping on the backside of sunset crater(ranger station entrance) anyone is welcome to join our group. we are family group at all different age groups. we ride hard and at times the older ones party hard:). Time for a burger and beer before it breaks 100. hoping next Sunday will be a good day. Have plan to take riding buddy (KTM 250) for a day trip

Leave in am (open) from airstrip returning afternoon by 3:30.

We will return through mini Ha HA. slightly easier run back but longer.

Will check back to see who is in. All welcome but note we will be on bikes so you cabin crawlers may be left back.. Will try to accommodate love this run so in no hurry.. Thanks

I know its sort of early, but it gives plenty of time for planning. The wife and I are planning on going to Moab the first weekend of October. Will be there 4 or 5 days. Right now we are thinking about doing Kane Creek, Chicken Corners and Poison Spider.

I don't know exact dates since it will depend on my night class schedule.

rules on riding in Maricopa county

I haven't been riding since December of 08 but went out today and got stopped by Sherrif. this was off Northern and Perryville. He told me that you can't ride anywhere in Maricopa county now except the OHV designated areas (mile marker 11.5 for example). What gives? I never had a problem in the past. I just bought the ohv sticker this week and thought I was covered?

Good place to let an engine open up for a while ride near PHX?

Been doing only the dune thing and some forest roads up north the past several years. Whats my best bet for a good long rip to stretch out a street bike powered RZR (to do some cooling system testing) closest to Phoenix (want high temps) that is legal and let me know if its on permit land. In other words no rocks really, not too narrow, not rutted up too bad, etc. I am hoping to be on the gas good for 10-20 minute stretches atleast but not necessarily looking for super fast speeds ... just long stretches to hold the RPMs up. Anything out at MM11 near Lake Pleasant ... been there only once and direction I went was into some tight gullys etc that would not work. I think 339th Ave is out these day right only small section open? I dont think Four Peaks area had very much wide open areas. Basically desert/washes is what I am looking for. Thanks!

I will be puttin' around p-town tomorrow on those slow, rutted out, dusty overridden trails. I would organize a ride but stimulants would be required to keep folks interested. have a great day all...I am so embarrassed by where I ride, I am not even going to post the trail numbers....have a great Cinco de Mayo all....if my camera doesn't fall asleep I might even post some pictures just before bed time tomorrow to help the insomniacs on this board!

Who's going!

I know there are very few who have ridden this new series as I have gone to both of the first two races and there just weren't a lot of racers showing. Both races were a lot of fun. This one looks like it is going to be a blast...best one yet!

I decided this year to stay close to home and support the local series when possible. If you've seen the promo's Kyle has been posting on Facebook and elsewhere, especially the last couple, and more so even for dirt bikes, this course will be simply amazing. I liked the course that Whiplash did at the Boulders, this has that and more. My motor is in a hundred pieces right now, but I am forgoing some improvements to make sure it's back together for this one.

Let's motivate and get out there folks! Quads, bikes, SxS's, trucks, buggies, lawnmowers, Big Wheels... I don't care as long as you show up and support our racing :). I'm being very selfish in this regard as I would like a series to race in next year and that only happens with racers showing up to have a great time in the desert.

Returned to the 70's

Sold my UTV and returned to the 70's. In the early 70's I bounce between Jeeps & dune buggies. Well sold the toy and picked up a VW Sand Rail & a 1969 Jeep CJ 5, a shortie. I had a 65 CJ5 with a V6 & Warn Overdrive. I have been looking for a while and finally found one with the V6, overdrive & power steering but she needs a little work. I will be playing with the Sandrail next weekend at Coral Pink Sand Dune in UT and the Jeep by the end of the summer. Who says you can return to your youth. I just move a touch slower, LOL!
