Yamaha Rhino forums?
Hey guys. I was hoping you guys could steer me towards the BEST Yamaha Rhino forums.......
I was just put into a cast and referred to a hand surgeon today, so I believe my bike is for sale in favor of a long travel Rhino. Maybe we'll be doing some rides soon?
thanks
Brian

Before you buy a long travel Rhino, you need to go to Desert Dog Offroad in Fountain Hills.
They built a Rhino type vehicle using a 650 V-twin, EFI Rotax from a Can Am Outlander. It has 54 HP stock, much more than a Rhino, and the engine/clutch system will allow a lot more HP to built into the system. The vehicle has long travel (I believe 18") and is BUILT as a four seater.
They are planning on building one using a Rotax 800 V-twin EFI motor, 62 HP stock. [:0]:D
Its a really cool RUV. I'll try to get some photos of it.:D

If you do get a Rhino, I know KMS is doing alot of performance work with them as well, so you should give 'em a call....

Yeah, the black one.
I was up there this weekend ordering Elka shocks for my DS650 and took some photos.
They really thought about the design and it should work really well in the dunes or trails. They even made it so the shocks can release and allow the vehicle to fit in toyhaulers. :D
By the way, it is a 4 X 4, they are waiting on the axles from a vender. Desert Dog uses the engine and drive train from the Outlander quad, so you get a quality power plant and drive train that has room for performance mods, meaning the CVT system can handle upgraded HP.

Hmmmm while that new vehicle from Desert Dog does look pretty cool... I would still stick with something tried and true. Otherwise, YOU get to be the test and if for any reason the company goes under, your gonna pay a bit more for fixes. Without actually seeing it in person the extended arms look somewhat suspect, awfully long and not too beefy, why not box them? I can't really tell what the rear seats are on top of, but if it is the motor or exhaust OUCH! Not to mention the shocks are not coil over (kinda look like the ones I paid $20.00 at a local parts store for my old golf cart), but they do "release?" .....and they are "waiting" on the axles....... still not a true 4x4 (yet.) Hey I admit, I love my Rhino and with the mods done (inexpensively) I am pushing 60mph!
Anyone can "MAKE" a motor fit - but will it fit and work together with the rest of the vehicle is why the big boys in our business spend millions of dollars in R&D.
As far as the forum question, SideXSide or Black Rhino are great, but what the heck is wrong with this one!
