Default Camp Wood - History?
I went up to Camp Wood last weekend and had an awesome time. We found a spot off of 95 with many concrete pads and other concrete structures but could not tell what it was. I checked my AZ history books and even Place Names, but found nothing. I know there was a calvary outpost in the area, but not sure where. We had several different versions of the Prescott NF map, one had two camp woods, a camp wood mtn and a camp wood spring, but that did not help.

Anybody got any clues on where I can find more information about this area and history?

TIA

Check with the local forest service office it sound like maybe the remains of a ccc camp. We have some around Safford cement slabs some walls still standing, most buildings had canvas roofs so the walls and floors are the only thing left.
